Assistant Caretaker

Pay Grade: 
Grade 3 (Spinal Column Points 5 to 6)

Monday to Friday - 30 hours per week (working hours pattern to be negotiated within the team)

Contract Type:
Full time - 52 weeks per year inclusive of holiday and statutory holiday entitlement.

Required from Monday 2nd November or as soon as possible after that date, the school governors are seeking to appoint a a well-motivated , reliable enthusiastic and conscientious person who is able to use their own initiative in carryingout a wide range of duties as part of the staff team at this friendly and very well thought of expanding school.

Candidates will be required to develop a good working relationship with all stakeholders and work closely with the Caretaker and School Business Manager.  A genuine concern for maintaining the buildings and site as a safe, secure and clean school environment is essential.

Duties will include security of premises, maintenance of fixtures and fittings, cleaning duties (both inside and outside) and other general caretaking tasks as required.  Having a good knowledge of building maintenance and being willling to learn new skills will be advantageous, and the ideal successful candidate should have a good awareness of Health and Safety regulations, and be able to respond to emergencies effectively.  The school will support the continued personal and professional development of the appointed person to the role with support from Sheffield City Council's caretaker training programme and other training opportunities.
